My body of work explores the theme of COVID-19, diving into the various ways in which this global pandemic affected our society, health, and personal lives. Throughout this period, I grew more than I realized at the time - something that compiling this body of artworks has helped me realize. Aspects like the lack of social connectedness, the impacts of the virus on loved ones, or the sudden economic plummet are all at the expense of the pandemic, which was almost incomprehensible to me as it occurred so quickly around me. With the effects, fears, and growth that the coronavirus had left on me and everyone around me, I wanted to express the change and reflect on the difficulties of recent years. This was also a globally experienced issue, so my theme is more likely to connect to a larger audience to encourage all to mediate and acknowledge just how far we have progressed in slowly tackling COVID-19. With that said, a few of my pieces included in this collection are a personal expression of my time in isolation - biding to the safety guidelines of the time, which I hope others may be able to relate to as well.
