With a generous grant from Y-NSG, I painted this uplifting and vibrant mural in the North Vancouver Paramedic Station. With local landmarks such as the Polygon art gallery, BC’s mountains, and the Lionsgate Bridge, this design aims to remind the first responders of who and what they are working for every day. On the Lonsdale Quay ‘Q’ at the bottom of the mural, there is a clock hand pointing to 7 pm, when citizens would go outside to clap and cheer for the frontline workers while in isolation, which is represented through the colourful bubbles throughout the landscape. With this concept, I wanted to show my and the community’s appreciation and support for the dedication and kindness of all frontline workers.
