Created with mixed media including acrylics, fabric, cardboard, and twine, this piece has plenty to look at. This diorama captures the three-dimensional view of a warm and inviting living room, with the focal point being a couch. Surrounding this centerpiece are a few plants, a yarn and knitting basket, and a book - some of the hobbies that extended isolation inspired people to pick up. Home became a sanctuary for me during the pandemic; a space that I grew to value more than ever before. However, the lack of change in scenery often became tiring as I yearned for a vacation – or even a simple trip to the grocery store. This is reflected in the mock airplane windows displaying scenes on the wall.
